Quit my job and now I'm following my dreams!

Last week I quit my job! I didn't really plan on it but my day job got to be too much for me to handle and I decided it was best to move on. I was incredibly unhappy in my job as an Executive Assistant, every day had become a chore and I was sick to my stomach thinking about going in day after day. For 11 years now, I have supported other peoples dreams and projects as an assistant but from now on I will be supporting my dreams.

Leading up to quitting my job, I had done a lot of research on what to do before you quit and read blogs by people who had quit corporate hell to follow their dreams. I was terrified of taking the leap and quitting a job I was miserable in before I had another one. But life is short, its a cliche I know, but it is and I don't want to spend my life trying to please other people who treat me like dirt.

Today was the first day I got to work on making my dreams come true! Soothsayer, my first novel is set to launch in June and I have a lot of work to do to make it a successful launch. I've been listening to Podcast's on my commute over the last few months and today I spent a good portion of the day reading Joanna Penn's book, How To Market A Book. After I finished reading about 150 pages, I spent the rest of the day working on a Novella that will come out between book 1 & 2 of the Soothsayer series.

It felt amazing to be creative and actually enjoy what I was doing all day long. I never thought that I would be able to spend my days reading and writing, but here I am. This is just the beginning for me and I cant wait to see what the future has in store for me.

Until next time!
